A few of the items recently crossing my screen about one of our favorite subjects, eminent domain:
- A review of "Little Pink House," the recently-published book about the Kelo case (available from Amazon here) from the New Haven Independent. I just finished reading the book and will have a review soon.
- Boston.com's review of the book here.
- The Day (New London) reports from the Kelo case's ground zero: "NL officials regret relinquishing power of eminent domain." The most interesting part of the article is the comments at the bottom, some of which appear to be posted by the actual players in the case. Professor Gideon Kanner adds his thoughts about the article here.
- ABC's John Stossel reports on Kelo and other eminent domain cases in "John Stossel on Eminent Domain Run Amok."
- Here's a new book about an eminent domain case that isn't Kelo: "The Taking" with the lessons property owners can garner from a taking in Maine.
- From Wisconsin comes this report on a proposal to cap property owners' attorneys fees in condemnation cases. Proposed by the state Department of Transportation, so you can guess what it is designed to do.
- On a related note is this report, which appears to be about the same proposal with additional details and criticism.
